Fluffiest White Frosting is a basic recipe that you will want to keep in your cake recipe collection to use with many variations for cakes, pies, or other baked goods. And, it’s fun to make. This recipe makes 5 Cups of Frosting.
1 Cup Sugar
1/3 Cup Water
1/4 Teaspoon Cream of Tartar
Dash of salt
2 Egg Whites (from Large Eggs)
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
Directions for Fluffiest White Frosting
Create the simple syrup: Combine sugar, water, salt, and cream of tartar in a saucepan. Cook and stir till the mixture is bubbly and sugar is dissolved.
In a mixing bowl, combine egg whites and vanilla. Slowly add the sugar mixture to the unbeaten egg whites while mixing at high speed for 7 minutes or till stiff peaks are formed. (We used a hand-held mixer).
Tips and Variations:
- Change the vanilla extract to another flavor such as lemon, almond, etc.
- Add sprinkles for color
- Use a strawberry cake mix and add strawberries and mint leaves on top to denote the flavor of the cake
